I've been shortlisted in the British Wildlife Centre's Photo Competition 2013!

It's no secret that one of my favourite places to visit is the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey.  I find it's a great day out to see and photograph many species of British Wildlife.  Its a place I would recommend anyone to visit whether they like photography or not.  Its the perfect place to learn more about british wildlife.

At the end of 2013 I decided to enter their photo competition for the first time but also the first photography competition I have entered. I'm very happy to say I have had three images shortlisted in 2 categories.  To say 'I'm over the moon' with being shortlisted is an understatement, especially having three images shortlisted from the four I entered.  I had two images shortlisted in the 'Animals in their Habitat' category, both of these were of my favourite species, the Red Fox.   One of my aims of last years visit was to get better Red Fox images as I had yet to do them  justice.

The competition was judged by wildlife photographer Danny Green, it will definitely help persuading me to enter more photography competitions.  It was also nice that my friend George had two images shortlisted, one of which was a great image of 'dancing Adders' and the other a fantastic close up of a Water Vole.

I thought I would share my shortlisted images with you, they were:

Animals in their Habitat

Animal Portraits
